Summer - To Thine Own Self Be True
I don't know much about spiritual writing. I haven't done much of it in my life. But I do know that the most basic truth to follow has something to do with Shakespeare's advice: "And this above all - to thine own self be true."
God makes us unique and individually special. We mess things up when we stop listening to that little voice of God within us and instead begin imitating others. Each of us has a path to follow that mirrors our uniqueness. Sometimes that path will put us in conflict with others and be difficult, but we have to remain true to what we hear within. If that inner voice is God, we can be sure the path we follow is right. How can we be sure it's God's voice? We can't! It's a matter of trust.
